Simple question about power lines?

question of theArcticWaffle : Simple question on electrical lines ?
I have a baby-monitoring camera system, which not only wireless and I want it wireless. It comes with a wire that plugs into an A / C adapter that goes into the wall. The A / C adapter has an input and an output of 120ac 12DC. I also have a battery compartment that holds 8 AA batteries and has two wires coming out of it. I want to cut the wire to the A / C adapter and connect it to the wire to the battery holder. Will this work and how do I connect the cable Best Answer:

reply Gunner0812
The simple answer would be a DC connector identical to that on the output side of the power supply to the two wires coming from the battery holder (red pen to mid-Lot . in black and ring) Here it is not so easy part: What is the current (amperage) required by the camera? The voltage of 8 AA batteries may be the same 12VDC, but they probably will not be able to the amount of electricity needed to operate the camera handle. Larger 12VDC batteries might work, but it is less portable, and the operating time may be still limited. Maybe a 12V battery from a battery backup unit? Is the power cable only think holding his camera away, “wireless”? How does it transmit its signal?

Question by cuterthanyourpuppy: We have a cheap baby monitor that gives off static while it is in one spot and when we are walking about? WHY?

Answer by wiseghy
Baby monitors are very low power transmitters. Try putting the transmitter in a higher place, clear of any metal. Do the same with the receiver. Keep away from electric heaters or electronic devices.

You may want to try ebay for a better monitor. Most work very well.

Why some people are so adamant about co-sleeping with infants? Not that I’m against it, but?

question by Valerie C : Why are some people so adamant about co-sleeping with infants? Not that I’m against it, but?
Why have I heard several comments about how it’s better for the baby, as if the baby sleep in a cot in your room? If they’re sleeping soundly through the night, and you have a monitor just in case, what is the reason why some people claim co-sleeping is the “right” thing to do? Personally, I think everybody has their own Best Answer.

reply bella_51708
I would never dream of co-sleeping. I think it is extremely dangerous. My husband and I are heavy sleepers and I was too afraid of rolling up on my baby and smothered him. Babies belong in cribs or cots. I am totally against co-sleeping in the same bed. We keep our son’s crib in our room so we can hear it and learn it fast, but he never sleeps in bed with us.

Baby monitors could either be a gorgeous sidekick or a piece of useless electronics for parents. Although these devices are nothing more than transmitters and receivers, there are some important factors to think about if parents want to maximally take advantage of these devices. For those who don’t want to buy garbage, please consider the following aspects.

Basic Types of Baby Monitors

No matter how diversified baby monitors are on the market, they generally belong to the following types.

Audio Baby Monitors

These are traditional types of security equipment. They are also the cheapest and simplest. Audio baby monitors allow parents to get information of their babies’ condition only by hearing. Some current models are made with additional features, like light remote control, mutual communication and temperature detection.

Video Baby Monitors

They are the most popular types of baby monitors today. With these devices, parents could not only hear their babies, but also watch their babies. These gadgets usually consist of cameras, screens, built-in rechargeable batteries, etc. Many of this kind are made with practical additional functions, for example, NEW Wireless Baby Monitor/PVR and Receiver – auto-exchangeable in 4 Channels from wholesale electronics company Actfind could output the video into TV or monitor.

Internet Baby Monitors

Anywhere parents could access to internet, these baby monitors will let them easily get to know their babies’ status through sound and pictures they receive.

Breathing Baby Monitors

This kind of monitors is designed for parents who worry that their babies might be troubled by certain disturbance like sleep apnea during their sleeping time.

Factors to Consider for Your Purchase

Range

This factor decides how far you can leave from the place where your baby is. Most of present models are 100 meter range while some low-end only allow you to be no more than 60 meter away.

Power Sources

Baby monitors are operated either on battery or mains or both. Battery-operated types offer great portability, but you might need to prepare extra batteries. Mains never run out of power, however, these kinds confine parents’ movement. Monitors with both battery operation and mains operation are the best as they blend the mentioned two’s merits and discard their defects.

Multiple Channels

This feature lets you locate a channel with the least amount of interference.

Sound Activated Lights

Sometimes what you are doing like watching TV and vacuum cleaning might be too noisy to hear your baby cries. This feature help you notice.

Extra Receivers

Extra receivers allow both parents to join in the monitoring. Parents could put two receivers in different places – very flexible.

Baby care becomes easy with baby monitors. Comparing to old times, parents have more flexibility and time to get their own things done while making sure everything with their babies are OK. Parents, are you at all concerned about your baby video monitors?

Posted in baby video monitors on December 9th, 2010 by Andrew – Be the first to comment

Question by Paul: Parents, are you at all concerned about your baby video monitors?
You should be. In fact, you should be frightened that strangers (or anyone) that come through your neighborhood can have access to your baby video monitor and watch your baby. Do you have any privacy and security concerns that someone can view inside your house through your baby video monitor?

Think burglars and peds. Burglars will use it to their advantage to rob you, and peds use it to prey on your baby.

Baby Monitors Safety – Learn more about Baby Monitors

Posted in Safety First Baby Monitor on December 6th, 2010 by Andrew – Be the first to comment

New to the art of parenting, you will be under the impression that it is all much hype about baby monitors safety devices and you that do not really need them. But, you will be surprised that they earned the coveted title “future nannies” in the 1950’s drawing acclaimed reviews that having left babies in them, the moms could even enjoy doing household chores!

Previously, the baby monitor units had a transmitter to catch and transmit every sound signal of the baby crying, gurgling and talking to a parent receiver. Nowadays digital monitors come with cameras with which the parents can watch the baby, but its necessity is uncertain as this is based on person to person. In case you go for one, certain things are to be considered.

The most important element to be considered when buying a baby monitor is its reception. Is it clear, or fuzzy? If the voice is unclear then it will be difficult to focus on the words and hard to differentiate the background noise from actual sounds. A low quality wireless baby monitors safety unit may even catch cordless telephonic conversations or microwave noise. As a result, the voice quality will be ruined. The solution lies in buying a good quality baby monitor with a range, similar to the house size.

If you purchase a monitor with too long a range then it might pick up on the neighbor’s monitor. You should consider purchasing digital baby monitors safety devices instead of analog devices. Studies have shown that they have less interference trouble than analog devices. If you choose an analog device then check the frequencies of any cordless phones you have to make sure they are not the same as that used by the baby monitor. Purchasing models with multiple channel selections is wisest.

Baby monitors safety devices often give rise to some negative issues questioning their credibility in giving safety to babies. They are very much sensitive capturing all the minute unwanted sounds which make the parents so irritated that there are chances of them failing to notice some real trouble the baby might undergo.

The electronic devices used in the baby monitors safety devices have short ranges. If parents who have the receivers are out of range, the signals are not received properly and hence could result in the parents misinterpreting their babies’ mood. Also the transmitters used in these devices are vulnerable to interference which would make the parents getting irritated.

So, baby monitoring devices are obviously not absolutely mandatory for new parents, while nonetheless being very helpful. Monitors with visual interfaces can allow a mother or father to attend to a woken baby without the necessity of waiting for the child to strain itself crying.
Babies can get into all sorts of trouble in their cribs, so these systems are of utmost importance for parents’ peace of mind. They can tell whether the baby is getting stuck in the bed linens, putting something in the mouth that shouldn’t be there, being bothered by family pets or small children, or having breathing problems that could lead to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
