Autism affects many families in America and can affect a toddler in many different ways. It can hinder a babies development socially as well as his or her fine motor and communication skills. Autism is not the childhood illness it once was, where many autistic children were hidden away and not understood. There are many clinical and research studies being analyzed to help health care providers, educators and parents come up with better solutions to treat and manage it. Everyone agrees that acknowledging the signs of autism and getting early preventative care is necessary for a child’s development. More and more health care providers and researchers believe that autistic traits can be seen in babes. When these symptoms become evident, is when early intervention should begin to help reduce the impact that the disorder can have on a child’s growth progress. That is why it is so important for parents to be on the forefront of recognizing the signs and symptoms of autism.

If a parent or a health care provider can distinctly see symptoms of autism in a child on or before their first birthday, then the child can get early treatment to minimize the devastating affects of this disorder.

Early onset symptoms are often not noticed simply because there is not a noticeable progression of abnormal behavior, but a lack of a child reaching those age appropriate developmental milestones. Babies who display autistic symptoms will not purposefully grab for toys nor will they try to get someone’s attention. Parent’s can often think that their baby is just really well behaved and since the infant does not interact as much as other babies do that he or she is not needy. But this can be an initial warning sign that a child is autistic. And while it is certainly true that a baby who does not cry often or is withdrawn from life is easier to handle, parents should be aware that something is organically wrong with their child if they do not need attention.

Parents need to be aware that autism can be controlled if caught early, but what exactly should they search for?

If you feel your baby is not attaining their developmental milestones, then here are some red flag signs that you may need to have your child analyzed. They include:

1. If a baby does not look you in the eye, does not look intently at toys, or will not search with their eyes when their name is called can be an early warning sign of autism. 2. A baby who shows no facial emotions, such as grimacing or exuberance or anger or fear. 3. A baby who doesn’t mimic your actions, whether it’s smiling, scowling or waving your hand. 4. A baby who will not try to create consonant sounds, or imitate the sounds you make when you talk to him or her. 5. A baby who is not energized by the objects he or she looks at.

Red flag warning traits for kids are:

1. The toddler has a uneasy time attempting to communicate to you about his or her wants and needs. 2. The kid no longer attempts to talk or interact with you. 3. The child is having trouble learning the finer points of speech skills.

Now, most parents will be concerned if they think that their toddler starts to have any of these warning symptoms. It’s just natural. If you have witnessed that your baby or child is exhibiting any of these warning symptoms then it is a best bet for you to call for an appointment with your pediatrician or family physician. In fact, even if your child is hitting their developmental milestones, it is still a good idea to have them analyzed. Your child could be a highly functioning autistic for their age, but may face challenges as they get older because of the social situations they find themselves in.

MY CHILD WENT TO BRIGHTSIDE ACADEMY I TOOK HIM OUT.THE TEACHERS WERE UNPROFESSIONAL,RUDE,AND UNATTENTIVE.I DROPPED MY CHILD OFF THERE FOR NEARLY 3 YEARS STRAIGHT.THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY ONLY TO FIND OUT THE STAFF MEMBER WAS FRIENDLY BECAUSE SHE SLEEPING WITH MY SON’S FATHER. Often time, I wonder how the management and owner from Pittsburgh allow regional managers, regional director run the center? The extremely loud atmosphere was a complete turn off the minute I visited the center. In addition, the staffs were shouting from one cubicle to another. There weren’t much diversity and it seem to sterotype mature providers. I can guarantee you that some of the immature providers are not certified and/or have criminal background because of what I witnessed. There’s a particular worker who drags her feet and stare at you with a crocodile smile…. Before entering into this Center, please look at the surroundings carefully.

My expierence with those was just a nightmare my grandson screamed and cried every day for atleast 9 months , I couldn’t understand what the problem was they’r dispositions were all so nasty even that director was a mess . childcare payments not submitted Parents look into this place really good before you leave your gem there , Your money is being stolen and so is your baby innocense There was boyfreinds in the classroom children left in gym atleast three hours per day Children fighting each other , while the so called child care workers stood around talking and not monitoring those children also the staff was always trying to get out of doing there duties .Thank theheavens my boy is gone from there please parents do not send your children there you will regrett it

Sorry…. child abuse, child neglect, child endangerment. Very sad, disappointment is an understatement. Some teachers are very lazy, they sit and no interaction with young children. Some hide behind walls to make personal phone calls. Shouting and profanity are used in the presence of young children.

I know people who work at bright side at 2501 25th st and it is horrible the workers all take off when they feel like it.with an exception of a couple of people.they don’t watch the kids they play rap music all day long instead off chldrens songs.they have fleas in the gym big fuzzy four legget friends running around the place. they are under staffed and inexperienced they only do something when inspection pops up.The only good people they have there is 2 black woman and a white woman who takes care of the baby very well I may add it is a joke this place they call a daycare center they take the kids in the gym and just let them run around all day so they don’t have to watch them.they talk on thier phones and the companies phone an also sleep while the kids are running around and if somebody gets angry with one of the kids yes they pinch them or have one of the other kids get them or beat on them an blame the marks on the other kids!If the kids fight some of them let them go while t

Here the list I have so far that I have for my baby that due in November. I won’t be getting any baby shower or anything since this is my third baby,

Crib. Bassinet. Swing. Car seat. Playpen. 2 bath towels. 6 burp cloth’s
2 pair no scratch baby mitts. Bottle Avent sterilizer. 16 wash cloth’s
10 0-3 months onesis. 10 6 -9 months onesis. 1 container wipes and one refill. Lanolin cream for breast. some toys. nail clipper for baby. 80 newborn diapers 1 to 2 avent pacifier 0-3 months. 2 pack 4 avent nipples 3 months 6 months nursing pads re washable. 1 avent 4 oz disposable and 1 8 oz disposable liners and bottle. 5 9 ox avent bottles and 5 of 4 oz avent bottles just in case I need to pump or can’t breastfeed.

I feel like I need more of something. I know I have a bedding set pick out and baby bath tub and play gym and Mobile for the crib has well.
What kind of monitor should I use. How many receiving blankets do I need to get. I know about clothes but got to wait for my second ultrasound to really confirm it a girl since the baby kept on moving with my first at 21 weeks. Is there anything I need. The baby is born winter time where I live. Thanks so much. Trying to bring memory up and so don’t to get a whole lot.

Start stocking up on more diapers. Work on getting the next sizes up just so you’re ready. Heavy blanket or one of those cozy things for the carseat for when they are outside. Maybe a baby sling for hands free carrying.

Okay, so here’s the deal:

In September, I learned that I was 2 months pregnant. By October, my baby was fully miscarried. Throughout the previous 3-4 years, I have been in and out of moods. Sometimes I was happy, sometimes very upset. However, after the miscarriage, I have been down on school, relationships, and life in general. I am a Biology/pre-med major who would call my mother to ask permission to skip class out of sheer guilt. But lately, the guilt feelings have diminished–which I know is a VERY bad sign in college–and I have been skipping multiple classes a week. Not only that, but I don’t complete homework assignments and have been failing quite a few of my classes. When I need to study or do research online, I find myself staring at the computer screen and wondering off to other websites for hours.I’m allwaaays drowsy. To make matters worse, I am sometimes unable to sleep–and when I am finally sleepy, I decide to stay up and watch TV/get on the internet (and it also doesn’t help that my roommate is the bride of Chucky). My friends have become increasingly distant. They claim that I may have postpartum depression, which could possibly be true. However, instead of them visiting and checking to see how I’m doing, it seems as if they have chosen the path of letting me ride things out myself, and they are less sympathetic and understanding when my actions (ignoring calls, being unenthusiastic) reflect my emotions.

In response to my pain during the miscarriage, my doctor prescribed me Oxycodon, which is a miracle pain reliever. I took my pills as recommended, but in my bouts of depression, I would take 2 at a time. It eventually increased to 3 pills, and then I would combine those with my macroadenoma medication (Cabergoline). It got so bad to the point that my boyfriend would have to stay in my room and monitor my health to ensure that I didn’t pass out on the floor. SN: Although I ran out a month ago, I’m still craving that Oxy…. I have gained about 15-20 pounds because of my bond to Southern cuisine and fast food. I find myself eating when I’m not even hungry. Like now, I’m eating Garrett’s popcorn, and I ate an entire foot-long sub, two cookies, and a bag of chips for dinner. I guess you could say I’m a calf, training to be a full grown COW.

I have had several episodes of guilt, triggered by the smallest of situations, all ending in tears. I would breakdown in the car at the mall parking lot, my dorm room…My emotions do not discriminate in location. I am overwhelmed with the stresses of sorority life as well, which demands much of my time, most of which I do not have because of my classes. As the 2nd VP, Representative, and Financial Secretary, I have a lot of responsibility. Lately, I have been losing the respect of my sisters because of my lack of initiative and interest in activities.

Now, the semester is coming to an end. I am currently in the process of applying to med schools. I fear that my grades will be terrible, and that I will lose my academic scholarship, which determines whether or not I will stay at an out-of-state school. This is my senior year, so I can’t afford to mess up, but I guess that’s a little too late, huh?

My question is this: what do I do now? I am known to be spontaneous and charismatic, but I am completely drained! I figure I should see a doctor, but I don’t want to waste my time if they are just going to diagnose my problems as “the blues”. Are there alternative methods to dealing with my issues besides counseling, such as vitamins? Lol, maybe I should have chosen psychology instead of pre-medicine as my major so I could understand myself better!

This is our third child, but we don’t really have anything from our previous two because we decided we were done having kids. Well, you know how it goes, after we got rid of everything, we started thinking about having another.

So now I’m 18 weeks pregnant with this baby and trying to figure out all of the absolute necessities. We got so much stuff we never used or rarely used for our other two, and not a lot of room in our apartment to store things that the baby won’t need in the first 6 months or so. Here’s my list. Please make suggestions or add things that I forgot.

One thing that came in so useful for us was spit rags….and tons of them. Actually, we just bought cloth diapers (very cheap, like, 12 for $ 10 type of thing) and we used them all the time.

So I’m trying to be conscientious of everyone and their budgets as I register for our first baby. I am currently listed for 2 (Target and Babies R Us) in hope that it makes for more convenient shopping for everyone involved. I’m having 3 showers (his family, my friends since I don’t have family in the states, and work). We make more than his family, or mine and I want everyone to feel comfortable making purchases. Editing to add that my parents bought the crib, mattress, dresser and changing table. So that’s taken care of. I’d buy it all myself, and don’t really care if I have to. I just don’t want to limit people. The only thing I might get sooner, rather than waiting is the carseat, since you never really know when you’ll need it, and its kind of importaint….
Also failed to mention that I directly report to the owner and CEO of my company and I feel as if they’ll get me a larger item for the work shower. So I feel as if I have to have something larger for purchase if that makes sense.
Thanks for your “help.” I’m not really certain what you mean by obsolete as we plan on having more children and will therefore use these items again. Cribs and car seats aren’t disposable where I live…

My registry is a list of items that I would purchase even if no one bought them for me. I don’t need gifts. I can buy this all and it won’t affect my finances. People would want to stab me, as people really do want to have a village feel in a new baby. I’d welcome any gift, and really even a card if that were all they can afford. It is not about the gift, it’s about celebrating my new baby!

Oh, and thanks for adding all this up for me. Now that I see the total, it’s not that much. I have friends that have spent that much on baby furniture alone. But I guess this is like the Olympics and you’re the Russian judge that low balls and nitpicks, and who’s opinion just gets tossed out in the end. There’s always the bitter, jealous, negative-Nelly, and here and now it’s you…

No, I think you have given lots of good options for people at all price ranges. I have bought so many baby gifts lately and no one has had reasonable gift options…. wish I had friends like you who registered for realistic price points!
